A Community Takeover (CTO) typically occurs when the original project creators are no longer active, have abandoned the project, or have acted with malicious intent. During a CTO, the true ownership of the project's domains, social links, websites, and token pages naturally shifts to the community.
If you are a community member representing a CTO, you can follow this guide to formally request updates to your token's page on CoinGecko.
Submission Process
- Log In to Your Account: Log in to your CoinGecko account. If you do not have one, please sign up first. (Refer to our guide: [How do I sign up for a CoinGecko account?] for help.)
- Access the Form: Visit the Partners Platform. Navigate to the Request & Listing tab and select Update Coin or Token Info.
- Select the Update Type: From the dropdown menu, select Community Takeover (CTO).

Provide Mandatory CTO Evidence: Because CTOs involve transferring control of a token page, we enforce strict verification procedures. You must provide verifiable proof in the "CTO Information" section, including:
- Developer Inactivity: Concrete evidence that the original developer is no longer active.
- Malicious Intent (If Applicable): Evidence showing the original developer acted with malicious intent or raised severe red flags.
- Community Support: Proof that the community unanimously supports the newly launched links. This requires a verification post published on the new official social handle.
- Fill in Additional Fields: Complete the rest of the form with your updated information.

| Additional Information | Include any extra context, such as new exchange listings or other relevant details. |

Choose Your Review Speed: Before finalizing your submission, select how quickly you need your application reviewed:

- Regular Pass: Standard review process, which takes up to 5 days.
- Submit Your Request: Acknowledge the terms and conditions, complete the captcha verification, and click the Submit Request button.
Tracking Your Application
Upon successful submission, a success message will display on your screen, and you will receive a confirmation email containing a unique Request ID (e.g., CUXXXXX).
You can monitor the real-time status of your request at any time by navigating to the Request & Listing tab in your Partners Platform. Our operations team will process your application based on the pass tier you selected.
