Community Takeover (CTO) Update Guidelines

In the event of a community takeover, ambiguity may arise surrounding the true domain owner of the project. Consequently, social links, websites, and ownership of the token page may be subject to change. A community takeover typically indicates that the original project creators are no longer active, had malicious intent, or raised red flags within the community.

If you are a community member representing the community takeover, please provide the following information:

• Evidence that the original developer is no longer active.
• Evidence if the original developer had any form of mal-intent towards the community.
• Proof(s) that the newly launched links are supported by the community. Therefore, a verification post is required on the new social handle as seen in the guide here.

If your token is listed on CoinGecko and you would like to make a CTO update request, please submit all verifiable links and evidence to https://support.coingecko.com/hc/en-us under the dropdown option ‘Contract Migration & Project Rebranding’.

If you wish to make a CTO update request on GeckoTerminal, please submit all verifiable links and evidence to https://support.coingecko.com/hc/en-us under the dropdown option ‘GeckoTerminal Related’ with your GTIU submission number.
