Migration of MATIC to POL [Completed]

Dear valued clients, 

The migration of Matic to POL is expected to take place on 4th September 2024. Kindly refer to this announcement made by the Polygon team for more information.

CoinGecko will support this migration by updating relevant token information on both MATIC and POL token pages.

The following updates will take place during the migration:

• New POL cross-chain contracts will be added to the POL token page.

• The native coin for the Polygon PoS asset platform will be updated from MATIC to POL.

• The native POL contract address will be added to the POL token page once the hard fork is complete. 

• Centralized and Decentralized exchanges that have completed the migration will be mapped to the new POL token page.

• The MATIC page will remain only for the old cross-chain / bridged contracts and markets that have not migrated. This page will eventually deprecate once volume decreases on the old contracts.
