Submission of Tag Request
To get started with submitting Tag Request on CoinGecko, you may refer to the steps below:
- Login to your CoinGecko account if you already have one. If not, please sign up for a CoinGecko account. You may refer to this article for more information.
- Once logged in, navigate to the bottom of CoinGecko main site and click “Request Form”, select “Update Coin or Token Info”.
- If you logged in after you clicked “Request Form”, you should be redirected to the form. If not, please click this link.
- Please select ‘Category Tag Update’ from the dropdown menu.
The corresponding form will be shown.
- Choose the coin/token you would like to add a category tag to using the dropdown. You can also type your coin name and search for it. Ensure you select the correct coin, as selecting the wrong coin will result in rejection.
- Please Indicate your role within the project.
- You may submit up to three categories, each with clear reasoning (minimum of 250 characters including links) as incomplete submissions will be rejected.
For example, if you are requesting to add the "DeFi" category to your token page, kindly select DeFi through the Category selection dropdown, and provide supported evidence of your project fitting the DeFi ecosystem in the Reason input field.
- Once all the information is filled up, check the terms and conditions and click “Submit”.
- You should receive a submission confirmation email.

Tracking Tag Request Application Status
To check the status of your request:
- Select the “View My Requests” button.
- You will be able to view your token supply application status.
Tag Update Request Outcome
You will receive an email notification confirming that your update request has been reviewed, along with the results for each of the category requests.
