How to Submit a Contract Migration or Rebranding Request

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This guide outlines the requirements and step-by-step process for successfully submitting a Contract Migration or Rebranding request on CoinGecko.

Important Notes on Migrations:

  • 1:1 Contract Migrations: The existing Coin page will be updated with the new contract address and new project information. A public notice will be added to the page to provide users with context.
  • Non-1:1 Contract Migrations: An entirely new Coin page will be created. The old token page will automatically be delisted if no trading activity is detected for more than 30 days. Both the old and new token pages will display a public notice.

Tips for a Successful Submission

  • Ensure all links are publicly accessible and relevant.
  • Provide sufficient proof and context (e.g., official announcements).
  • Submit from an official project email domain whenever possible.
  • Use accurate chain explorers and contract addresses.
  • Note: Any requests submitted with malicious intent will be strictly rejected.

Submission Process

  1. Log In to Your Account: Log in to your CoinGecko account. If you do not have one, please sign up first. (Refer to our guide: [How do I sign up for a CoinGecko account?] for help.)

  1. Access the Form: Visit the Partners Platform. Navigate to the Request & Listing tab and select Contract Migration or Rebranding.

  1. Choose the Relevant Scenario: From the dropdown menu, select the type of update you are requesting:
    • Contract Migration and Rebranding/Contract Migration only: Use this default selection for any migration.
    • Rebranding Only: Use this strictly for pure rebrands with no contract changes.

  1. Fill in the Required Fields: Complete all mandatory fields with accurate and detailed information. The more comprehensive your submission, the faster our team can verify and process your request.

Form Breakdown:

Section Description
1. Coin/Token to Update
  • Choose the coin to update and your role in the project.
2. Public Announcement Links
  • Announcement links serve as the source for verification.
  • The more context we have, the faster and more accurate we can accommodate the request.
  • Valid forms of announcements include community channel sources like an X post, group message announcement, official documentation, governance proposal and vote results, Medium articles, verified news publications, etc.
  • For rebranding updates, an appropriate public announcement should contain: purpose of rebrand, date of rebrand, etc., whatever is available.
  • For migration updates, an appropriate public announcement should contain: purpose of migration, old:new token migration ratio, date of migration, new contract address, migration portal, etc, or whichever is applicable.
3. Contract Migration Information
  • Does it involve rebranding?
    • If the migration comes with a project/token rebrand, click on the first option.
  • Is the migration 1:1?
    • A 1:1 migration means that old tokens are exchangeable for an equal number of the new tokens, and the total supply of both tokens remains the same. If this is the case, select the first option.
  • Would you like to update the existing token page with the new info, or create a separate page for the new token and retain the old one?
    • Select the first option if you would like the old token page to be updated with new info, while the price chart will remain unchanged.
    • Otherwise, a new token page with updated information will be created, while the old token page will remain listed until trading activity ceases.
    • However, please note that the final outcome may differ, considering the circumstances; this is up to us to decide.
  • Tentative Migration Date in UTC
    • Any updates submitted are assumed to take effect soon. If you prefer the update to happen after your migration date, please submit the request afterwards.
4. Contract Migration Details
  • This section is intended for inputting the new blockchain platform (chain) and the contract address to which the token has migrated.
  • If you cannot find the target chain from the dropdown list, it is likely that CoinGecko has not yet integrated the chain. In this case, please provide the explorer URL in Section 5 - Block Explorer Links, and highlight the issue in Section 15 - Additional Information.
